What college would be a good fit for me? Help, please :)?

I am extremely outgoing. I love parties but am not the biggest purveyor of the whole drinking scene. I want a pool of students around me that is large, but not so large that I would feel lost. I want to be in a city where there’s something to DO, but I am making the transition from the suburbs to a larger city hopefully so I don’t want to be completely shocked. I love being near the ocean and/or cold temperatures. I want a very intellectual atmosphere, where the majority of the students care about the world around them as opposed to the tabloids. I want to be in a college where people are not so weighed down by homework that we can’t occasionally relax a bit, but everyone knows that their studies come first. I also want it to be an alma mater that I can be proud of later on, and where I feel that the years of effort I put into compiling my resume would not go to waste.
Also, I’ve been thinking about joining a sorority, although the glitzy, elle-woods type of sorority is not for me. Although I do appreciate the structure, organization and loyalty of that system.
Academically:
I have a 4.38 weighted, 4.0 unweighted and I’m halfway through junior year. Here’s the kicker; I’m probably about to get two Bs, and I’m not counting on getting an A in AP Calc AB next year.
I will have taken 8/9 APs by senior year, a 5 on AP World, 2150 in one sitting for the SATs, 2200 if taken from each section. Also, two honors classes, and peer teaching for AP World. Hopefully I will also be a peer counselor.
I am VP of Spanish club, Secretary of Key Club, Co-Publications Manager of CSF (running for VP this year), Secretary of History Club, Running for Co-President of NHS, starting a club soon, member of Drama Club.
Involved in Science Olympiad (and helped to plan the event), Math League, my high school’s Science Institute, and hopefully Academic Decathalon this year.
Assistant Director for spring play, Assistant at tennis camp, counselor at volleyball camp, played Frosh and JV Volleyball, NCVA club for 5 years. Freshman orientation counselor. Various other community service projects. Work at Hospital in Jr. Auxiliary and local library. Churchgoer.
306 hrs comm service, likely to be 400-500 by graduation.
Distinguished community service, honor roll, got into an American Legion environmental camp by essay application, won Veterans of Foreign Wars essay contest locally.
Taking classes at local community college over summer if I don’t get into UC Davis’s COSMOS program.
I know I have enough extracurriculars, and I can write a really good essay, but I may not make valedictorian.
** I’m taking SAT II in May in US History and Literature.
I’m looking for something pre-med, not political science. Sorry… ![]()
And I’m not sure about GWU. :/
um wow. i may be only a student but that looks incredibly impressive.
at my school recently, there was a small college presentation about George Washington University in Washington DC, and it sounded pretty cool – they’d probably let you in in a heartbeat.
their major selling points were internships (something like all students are guaranteed an internship, usually right in the state departments which are located within walking distance of one of their campuses), the number of speakers and the quality of their professors (really well-educated people teaching undergrads, not just the graduate students), their school of international affairs (great advantage, being located right in the capitol and near embassies etc)….the other huge thing was their engineering school, though they didn’t tell us much about it because there were no aspiring engineers in the audience.

i figured the stuff about your interest in social sciences/history (AP history class, peer tutor, future SAT II testing) might mean you’re interested in political sciences and that sort of thing.
