teacher summer vacation – please help w. fun things to do?
August 21st, 2009 | by admin |i’m a teacher and its almost summer. i have almost 11 weeks off and i want to have a fun summer. i want to learn and experience life and i need ideas. i live close to the ocean and mountains. some ideas i have already… learn to ride dirt bikes, kayak, camp, etc… i am willing to spend 1-2K on fun this summer. think of a few ideas that i can take my 2 year old (that I have for about 1/3 of the time) to also.
Here are some of the things I’m doing (once summer school is over at the end of June):
*Going to Branson, Missouri, and taking in some shows
*Whitewater rafting in Colorado
*Finding out all the little places of interest in my area and playing tourist
*Possibly going to the circus in ElDorado

You could take her to munchkins world at six flags or you could go to the beach learn to surf or just go surfing if you already know how to
go hiking on the mountains
layout on the beach
go somewhere like Florida or if you live somewhere else other then california go to California and go see the stars on hollywood blvd.
or if it is to hot go outside go see a movie

I wish I was in your position!!!! Believe me, I could use some time off this summer. Instead- I will be teaching high school English I. I will have about 13 days before Summer School begins. I will be teaching until almost mid July and will have two and a half weeks before school starts again for teachers (early August).
Whatever you do – try to think about your students and how you can incorporate your memories from your travel and activities into your curriculum.

I do the things I enjoy doing. A lot of hiking, Camping, visiting Civil War sites, go to a Beach for at least 1 or 2 days, etc. All inexpensive. Lots of them just day trips.
