My belly pericing is red is that normal?

I’ve had my belly button pierced for 6months now. Theres no pus cooming out of the piercing and I have no crust and it doesnt hurt when I touch it, its just red. I have no clue whats going on with it. I do work at a summer camp with kids and we go in the water every day (ocean) is it mabey the salt water thats doing this?

    its fine. everyones gets like that. and if it gets infected dont worry just clean it out. it just takes a while to heal. everyone that i know that has gotten it done has gotten infected but not like really bad
    its only a little since it takes a while to heal.

    Belly Button peircings take at least a year to fully heal. Mine was red for over 9 months. It get better though.
    Salt water is very good for peircings of any kind. What I like to do is mix sea salt with water, put a bit in a shot glass and then tip the glass onto my belly button so it can soak in it for a while.

    well, if its red 4 more than 6 months iwould probobly say its infected and if your totally sure its infected u should take the ring out or go to a doctor…. just so it doesnt get infected with any more bacteria…… oh! and btw DONT touch it!!!

    actually its not the salty water, it is water!!! just make sure to dry well after your swim, dry it well with a towel or sundry it. make sure also that you are not wearing a piece of metal jewellery at this point . it should be silver or plated aluminum… if your belly button piece is made of metal it could be rasting in there causing these signs of inflammation. make sure than to dry the jewellery carefully too.
