February 2nd, 2010 | by admin |The Rottweiler is a fairly large dog breed. They were originally bred as a herding dog in Germany. Rottweilers are very smart and stocky dogs. It’s possible that some Rottweilers were originally used for hunting, but the modern Rottweiler is relatively slow and lack hunting instincts. Traditionally, Rottweilers were used to pull livestock to market and slaughter. Today Rottweilers are used as search and rescue dogs, guild dogs for blind people, assistance dogs, guard dogs, police dogs in addition to some of these traditional roles.
