October 22nd, 2009 | by admin |

My class is going to Thetis Island it is on the ocean and I don’t know what to bring?

here is a list of what i can think of, other than the essentials, like clothes and toiletries:
-waterproof camera (try a waterproof camera bag)
-flashlight
-hat
-sunglasses
-swimsuit
-sunscreen
-bug repellent
-snorkel
-waterproof shoes
-towel
-personal floating thing (inflatable) ex. tube, boogie board
I hope that helps!

Swim Suit, probably more than one because you will get lots of sand in the bathing suit which will be annoying to wear a second time
Sun Screen, otherwise getting back is horrible
    Sandals, for the beach
Tennis Shoes, for in town activities
If you can, try to buy a cheap boogie board, they are so much fun
Last, just some regular clothes, the beach is the fun, oh and remember towels

Aren’t they giving you a list of things to bring or not bring? Forget the boogie board, there won’t be any waves big enough. Thetis Island is in a sheltered area. It’s salt water but you won’t see any big waves except the wake from a ferry maybe. Most camps need you to bring a sleeping bag. For clothes, it will be warm in the day but probably cool at night so bring shorts, jeans, summer tops and one long sleeved shirt, maybe a sweatshirt, a hat, and a swimsuit and towel. I’d bring a pair of old runners so you can climb around on rocks and get the shoes wet with salt water and it won’t matter, or bring those shoes they sell for water. Bring sunscreen, bug repellent just in case. A flashlight with extra batteries is probably a very good idea, one that fits in your pocket but won’t turn itself on while in your pocket. It will be dark at night since there will be very little street lighting if any.
