It's only a 4-41/2 hour drive and probably the closest beach on the ocean to Atlanta. If you ever want to try a lake I recommend Payne's Creek Campground on beautiful Lake Hartwell. The lots are about 1/2 acre each and all on the water and it's 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta.
