Temporary Car Insurance Explained
January 26th, 2010 | by admin |Several auto insurance policies are still sold on an annual basis. However, to meet the flexible needs of modern driving, temporary car insurance is now available for shorter periods of time.
Temp vehicle insurance is often referred to as policies ranging from 1 to 28 days. However, there are now a number of specialist insurance companies who now offer flexible cover for between one to six months.
There are even options dubbed “pay as you go”. This provides the option to switch insurance on and off for periods when they know it will not be required.
There are many scenarios where temp cover may be needed. One of the most common is making sure you are protected when borrowing a friends vehicle. Securing an additional policy for this could protect any no claims bonus acquired. This could therefore be a good option for more experienced drivers.
