It certainly was in the newspapers to qualify and more interesting than forgotten toilet tissue.

well a couple a years ago I was driving up in eastern Wa. along the Bumping lake rd. and heard a horrible noise that sounded like a sick pee-c0ck…so I stoped the truck and what ran out of the woods was some fat lady who got into a fight with her husband and wandered off out of camp and got lost…she was crying and said she had been lost for four hours and did I know where the bumping river camp ground was……………I said sure lady ..it’s right behind me about a hundred yards……….LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I took her back but she didnt want me to take her to her camp…probably because she was so imbarrased that she had gotten lost only a little ways out of camp…….Flatlanders……..what are they doin’ out here anyways?

Where is a good campsite for a tent that is closest to the ocean?

I’m interested in anything that is in the area of Panama City FL. Has anyone ever stayed in Camper’s Inn there? Mexico Beach or St Georges IslAND would be good also. I’m trying to find one closest to the beach. Somewhat secluded.

Although I’m unfamiliar with the Panama City area, I’ve often camped close to beaches. Sometimes you can find them online (google Panana City campground), or you can check out Florida state parks, or you can just ask locally. I never make reservations, so sometimes the last option works for me.

Occasionally, there are less-publicized municipal or regional parks/campgrounds that work very well once you learn about them.

why do we allow things like this to happen?

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Environmental Protection Agency is investigating whether cancer-causing radioactive material was buried in the 1980s near a rifle range at Camp Lejeune, the Marine Corps’ primary base on the Atlantic Ocean.

A recently recovered Navy document dated 1981 said the material included 160 pounds of soil and two animal carcasses laced with strontium-90, an isotope that causes cancer and leukemia.

"We are looking into this information to determine if we need to sample and where," said Dawn Harris-Young, a spokeswoman for the EPA’s regional office in Atlanta. "It’s really early."

I used to have this screen saver that was this little dude stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean. He used to do real funny things like fish and camp and sleep and all sorts of things. That was my fav scrren saver and I can’t find it online anywhere. Anyone willing to give a hand?

What are some Camp grounds in the santa barbara/ventura area that are near the beach/lake?

so im looking for a place to camp this weekend, and i’ve been searching the internet for HOURS, but i was hoping someone knows a place that fits my needs…

Im looking for a place i can camp in a tent that is walking distance from the water (ocean or lake). im also looking for a place that is on a first-come first serve basis since this is so last minute, im sure the reservations are all full… (unless you know of one in particular that is not full around this time)

place don’t just give me links to those sites that list every single on in socal because truust me, i’ve probably been on it. im looking for someone with a real answer from EXPERIENCE

Lake Casitas near Ojai has a lot of campsites, but like Lake cachuma, it’s a water supply so swimming, water skiing, and jetskiing aren’t allowed.
Emma Wood State Beach is a possibility. I’m not sure about camping.
McGrath State Beach near Oxnard is probably your best bet.

Camping on the Beach: East Coast?

I live in Washington DC and I want to take a weekend trip to camp on the beach. Would prefer not to have to drive more than 3 or 4 hours. I’d also like to be able to access bars and restaurants, but that isn’t a deal breaker. I’d be more than fine with lots of sand, a place for a fire and the ocean. Remote beach camping is a-ok with me too because I happen to have stocked up on quite a few fireworks this 4th : )

A place that is in your driving timing but is not right on the beach……

First Landing State Park has campsite that are behind the dunes that front a Chesapeake Bay swimming beach. There are some sites that are open to the dunes and you may have a little bit of a view of the Chesapeake. There are fire rings at each site but I would hold off on the fireworks. There is a park police officer that doesn’t seem to sleep.

A big plus about this place, that can perhaps make up for not being right on the beach, is that you are not far from Virginia Beach. You could spend part of your day and/or evening there. Enjoy the wide sandy beach and the ocean in Virginia Beach, have access to the seaside bars and restaurants, and have a campsite that is not far away.

You could also check out Assateague. I have never been there so I can’t make any recommendations.

Where can I go camping on the beach in the US?

I’m looking for a place in the United States where I can camp on an a beach. I’m talking about the ocean, not a lake or river beach. We’re planning our road trip in September, so I’d like to find a place where the temperature will be hot in early fall. Probably the southern half of the US. I’m in Wisconsin, so I can get anywhere in the US in about twenty four hours. Any suggestions?

you are in wisconsin, so you have to decide if you want to deal with trying for weeks and weeks of hours on the phone dialing and redialing to a busy signal (must be 6 months in advance) trying to get a camping reservation for any of the beaches in this state…..Plus there are those millions of camping goons, idiots, screaming kids, crying babies, barking dogs, parents calling their kids for breakfast, lunch and dinner because that is what you will get out here in california….. or whether you want the slow and easy retired life style of going on a cruise to the Caribbean and snorkel everywhere the ship docks, great meals, all you can eat, day in day out, ship security, fun things on board to do even dancing classes and karaoke at night. big shows chocolate, drinking, more drinking and even more drinking and partying….

I would like to camp right on the ocean… Where I can set up my tent right on the beach, make a fire right on the beach…and park my car next to it…Does anyone know of a nice camping ground that allows this?

Ocean Kayak Malibu 2 XL for a small family?
