Not really sure when I learned to knit, but unlike most people, who learn from a relative or friend, or maybe take a class, I taught myself to knit. After a lot of trial and error, (did I say months that turned into years?) I somehow managed to finally “get it”. Whew! – you know that was more than a relief and I was walking on the ceiling. So, yes, you can say it’s a passion of mine.
And just when I thought I was sailing smooth, I decided to take up spinning. I’m still not sure why I took that route. Maybe I have some kind of self-sufficiency obsession or maybe it’s a driving need to one-up myself. Sure I thought it was a perfect match for my other acquired skill, but I didn’t want to knit with inferior crap. I wanted nice yarn – you know, that soft wool/silk-blend stuff with the bright colors and incredible hues. I originally took an 8 week class, and learned how to make beautiful yarn that I could never afford to buy. And the process of making it is so calming, so meditative.
I wonder if people had knitted or crocheted or had other creative outlets earlier in life and continued it as a lifelong pursuit, would they have developed patience, anger-management, and other social skills at a younger age? Well, it’s never too late to learn. Anyway, take a spin around my site and you’re likely to find all kind of paraphernalia. It’s another outlet I have, so keep coming back. You know I’m going to be adding more…

It is possible to find affordable wooden boat plans online that are very reliable, have the proper supporting testimonies and are known to be designed by reputable builders. Always take the extra time to know for sure that any plans you are considering are tried and tested. Remember that anyone can think up a design for a boat and throw it up on the Internet, but that does not mean it will hold water.

Essentially, it is vitally important to find wooden boat plans from a reputable dealer with testimonials from people who have previously used the same plans to built their boats. You will find that the majority of free wooden boat plans found online will not have the kind of documentation you want to see. Make sure that you have a proven plan before you begin your own boat building project.

One of the hardest things to do, when learning guitar, is to stay motivated. Once the novelty of playing guitar wears off, many people find it hard to stay motivated. This can often occur when the pain of learning the instrument begins to set in. Essentially, I’m referring to the soreness in your fingertips and the muscle fatigue that can occur when trying to hold down a chord.

At this time it is important to remember why you started playing guitar in the first place. Have your goals at the forefront of your mind and preferably written down where you can see them every day. Put yourself in the correct mindset for practice, by taking a few minutes to refocus on those goals. Just by doing these simple exercises, you will be more likely to keep going and get beyond this troublesome learning period.

So you want to play the blues. Well before you start any blues guitar lesson, in fact before you even pick up that guitar, you should have a few things very clear in your mind. What things am I talking about? Your goals!

Knowing what you want to accomplish during your current blues guitar lesson and what you want to accomplish 6 months from that lesson, for example, are very important to have in mind. By doing so, you are more able to measure your progress. You are able to correct your course when you need to.

Play guitar, while fun, can often become extremely frustrating. Far too many potential players end up giving up the instrument, because they are unable to get passed the inevitable periods of frustration that come with playing the guitar.

By keeping your goals in mind, you will be one step closer to achieving them and take a giant step away from the direction of giving up, before you’ve really gotten started.
