Period at beach camp?

August 3rd, 2009 | by admin |

I’m going to camp in august, and we’re in the ocean for at least a few hours every day, and I’m afraid i’ll get my period. I’m fine with using tampons and everything, but it might be kind of inconvenient to change them…I’m 13, how long can I keep one in? How much should I bring? There are porta potties on the beach which I guess I’ll have to use, but I’d like to avoid that. Just give me a few helpful tips? Thanks!
Also, is there any way to avoid getting your period (besides getting pregnant :) . I’m not regular yet so I have no idea. Thanks.

If you want to forget about tampons for the week go see a GP and ask them about it, I take norethisterone to make my periods regular, and it can be taken to postpone your period, it’s not a contraceptive therefore won’t mess you up as much as the pill, but you may want to consider taking it for a while to fix your periods.
